Assessment for HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

 

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

CPR Refresher

If you have already completed the CPR course before but need to do the refresher component, you only have to complete the theory assessment..

CPR Full Course

If you haven’t previously completed the CPR course, you will need to do this theory assessment component and then contact your nearest Civil Safety Training Facility to book in for the practical component.

Things you should know

Your Study

You are required to study the  learner guide and supplement your knowledge with self-guided online searches and study before attempting to start your assessment. If you have and questions or need help with your studies please use the Learning Support button at the bottom of this page. Results are only issued if we can verify proof of payment for your course from payment records.

Your Online Theory Assessment

You must complete your assessment in one sitting.  You will need a laptop or tablet with internet access to complete your assessment. We do not recommend using a smartphone or small device because of the volume of text contained in the assessment.

Face to Face Practical Assessment

 If you are undertaking the Full Course you will be required to complete the practical component at a Civil Safety Training Facility. When you have completed your theory assessment please call 1300 CIVIL S during business hours to book your practical face-to-face assessment. You are required to have completed your theory assessment prior to attending a practical face-to-face assessment.

This course consists of 1 unit. This unit of competency (HLTAID001 – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation [CPR]) will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

This unit will cover the following:

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Perform CPR procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident

Click the link below to start your online Theory Assessment. At the start of your assessment you will be asked to select a Civil Safety location. When you have successfully completed your theory assessment you should contact the Civil Safety office at the location that you selected and arrange a time for your practical assessment (contact phone numbers available at www.civilsafety.edu.au)
