Assessment for the TLIF2080 Safely access the rail corridor
TLIF2080 Safely access the rail corridor is a nationally recognised Unit of Competency from the Transport and Logistics Training Package. This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to enter the rail corridor under supervision in accordance with Access Provider, legislative and regulatory requirements. Licensing or certification requirements are not applicable to this unit.

This course requires recertification every two years reviewing your retained knowledge.

Your Online Theory Assessment
You must complete your assessment in one sitting. You will need a laptop or tablet with internet access to complete your assessment. We do not recommend using a smartphone or small device because of the volume of text contained in the assessment.
Your Online Practical Assessment
You assessment must be completed on a smartphone or tablet. You must complete your assessment in one sitting. Read each practical task and then answer the task by pressing the ‘select’ button next to it. This will open the audio recorder or camera of your smart device. It may be wise to install an audio recorder app (free from the app stores) prior to commencing your practical assessment.
Face to Face Practical Assessment
Civil Safety can provide face-to-face practical assessments at their high risk training facilities. This incurs an additional $100 trainer/assessor fee (payable at the time of booking). Call 1300 CIVIL S during business hours to book your practical face-to-face assessment. You are required to have completed your theory assessment prior to attending a practical face-to-face assessment.

This course consists of 1 unit. This unit of competency (TLIF2080 – Safely Access the Rail Corridor ) involves the skills and knowledge required to enter the rail corridor. It includes taking appropriate safety precautions to:
access the danger zone
access the rail corridor
respond appropriately in an emergency.
People achieving competence in this unit will need to fulfil the applicable state/territory legislated rail safety requirements and to comply with relevant codes of practice, rules and/or guidelines. This unit involves the application of Rail Infrastructure Manager rules, procedures and protocols for rail safety. This unit applies to all people accessing the rail corridor.
You are required to complete your theory and practical assessment in one sitting . Please allow at least one hour to complete. If you do not answer all questions you will be required to take the theory assessment again. If you do not pass your theory assessment you will be redirected to a second chance. If you successfully your second chance you will need to return to this page and then complete your practical assessment using the ‘Practical Assessment Only’ link below.
